La Guaca, Single Origin - TBCAF 2026
La Guaca, Single Origin - TBCAF 2026
Grown at 1,600 meters in Costa Rica’s renowned Chirripó highlands, this exceptional coffee benefits from rich volcanic soils, cool mountain temperatures, and ideal growing conditions that allow the beans to develop slowly, creating remarkable depth and complexity.
Named *La Guaca*, meaning “hidden treasure,” this single-estate coffee comes from Finca La Guaca, part of Cafe Rivense, a family-run operation led by Ricardo Ureña Rojas. His family has cultivated Catuai Arabica on these mountain slopes for generations. The 2022/23 harvest was hand-selected by Ricardo himself, making this a special lot that reflects the family’s dedication to quality and their trusted partnerships.
Naturally processed by drying the coffee cherries whole under the Chirripó sun, the beans develop a rich, fruit-forward character as the sugars and flavors of the cherry slowly infuse the coffee. The result is a beautifully layered cup featuring **notes of apricot and lavender, followed by a rich dark chocolate finish.**
These beans were roasted in a special collaboration with the Tampa Bay Coffee & Art Festival to celebrate unique coffee and TBCAF 2026!
